Teach the Teachers Educational Workshop

A Faculty Development Seminar hosted by the Philippine Pediatric Dental Society, Inc. (PPDSI) in collaboration with the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD)

We look back on a highly engaging and insightful two-day workshop held on April 25-26, 2026 at the College of Dentistry, University of the Philippines, Manila. This 2-day workshop was facilitated by International Association of Paeditaric Dentistry (IAPD) led by Dr. Soni Stephen (IAPD President), Dr. Anna Maria Verriou (IAPD Secretary General), and Dr. Marina Papachroni (IAPD Representative for National-Member Societies).

The first day featured a full lineup of lectures covering essential topics in pediatric dentistry, including:

• Behavior Guidance Techniques• Diagnosis and Treatment Planning
• Deep Caries Management (Selective & Non-Selective Removal)
• Vital Pulp Therapy in Primary and Young Permanent Teeth
• Topical and Local Anesthesia Techniques in Children
• Minimal Invasive Strategies
• Comprehensive Treatment Planning and Case Discussions

Day 2 was a hands-on workshop where participants had the opportunity to develop practical skills through interactive sessions on:

• Rubber Dam Placement for Quadrant Dentistry
• Full Coverage Crowns
• Minimum Intervention Techniques
• Pulp Treatment
